Marissa has spent the better half of the last decade traveling with friends and family as a means of self-discovery and inspiration.

“As a woman, it was easy to give away pieces of myself, bit by bit, until one day I realized I had no idea who I was, what brought me joy outside of my family or where I fit into the larger world. Traveling, I began to take some pieces back, arranging them in new and exciting ways.”

This became a motivation to share the experience of intentional, nonjudgemental, self-focused travel with other women. She cultivated a community of traveling women, who seek to rediscover their authentic selves.

CERCARE is about seeking. Not rushing through highlights, but looking for what’s real: the people, the food, the stories, the small moments that stay with you long after you return home.

Aviana has been a trusted sounding board for CERCARE since its beginnings, offering encouragement, perspective, and a shared enthusiasm for meaningful travel. A legal professional based in Washington, DC, she values bringing women together through shared experiences.

In 2011, Aviana and her sister Marissa traveled to Italy to visit family for the first time and obtained dual Italian citizenship, strengthening their shared connection to their Italian heritage.
