Marissa has spent the better half of the last decade traveling with friends and family as a means of self-discovery and inspiration. “As a woman, it was easy to give away pieces of myself, bit by bit, until one day I realized I had no idea who I was, what brought me joy outside of my family or where I fit into the larger world. Traveling, I began to take some pieces back, arranging them in new and exciting ways.” This became a motivation to share the experience of intentional, non-judgemental, self-focused travel with other women. She cultivated a community of traveling women, who seek to rediscover their authentic selves.

CERCARE is about seeking. Not rushing through highlights, but looking for what’s real: the people, the food, the stories, the small moments that stay with you long after you return home.

FOUNDING ASSOCIATE

A trusted sounding board for CERCARE, Aviana offers support and perspective for all things CERCARE. Aviana is a legal professional living in Washington, DC. She is passionate about bringing people together and providing much-needed R&R to women from all walks of life. As a student at Boston University, she was president of her sorority, Alpha Phi, where she grew to appreciate the invaluable treasure of a community of women.

Aviana shares her sister Marissa’s love for travel, particularly when it means connecting to the local culture and community. Aviana and Marissa first bonded over their wanderlust while visiting family in Italy and obtaining dual Italian citizenship in 2011.
